Poster produced for London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote rail travel to Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The poster shows a woman in a red dres indicating the panoramic beach scene and sea below. The beach is thronged with people, and the pier and boats are visible in the background. Artwork by Charles Pears, a marine painter in oil who was an Official Naval Artist during the World Wars. He worked as a poster artist for rail companies and other clients and was also a book illustrator. Dimensions: 1016 mm x 1270 mm.
