Description

Flying Scotsman' A3 Class steam locomotive leaving Leeds station, Yorksire, with the 'White Rose' express for King's Cross station, London. Photograph by Bishop Eric Treacy. Treacy (1907-1978) was often allowed special access to many areas denied to other railway photographers. He also befriended many of the footplate crews, occasionally persuading them to create special smoke effects for the camera.
