Woman building a radio set on an asembly line at the HMV (His Master's Voice) works at Hayes, Middlesex. The chasis of the radio is held at an angle in a special wooden cradle, as she fits a delicate piece of electronics. The radio gained a peak of popularity between the two world wars, with the majority of households in Britain owning one. Photograph taken by George Woodbine for the Daily Herald newspaper.
