Description
A photograph of Hawker Hart aeroplanes rehearsing for an RAF pageant, taken by George Woodbine for the Daily Herald newspaper on 31 May, 1935. Two Hawker Hart aeroplanes practice a complex manoeuvre in flight. The Hawker Hart entered RAF service in 1930 as a two-seat light bomber. Designed by Sydney Camm (1893-1966), it was the first of a long line of all-metal biplanes that formed the backbone of the RAF until the outbreak of World War Two. This photograph has been selected from the Daily Herald Archive, a collection of over three million photographs. The archive holds work of international, national and local importance by both staff and agency photographers.
