Description
An A4 class 4-6-2 locomotive number 60009 "Union of South Africa" with a passenger train at King's Cross station, 24 October 1964. This locomotive was used to pull trains from King's Cross station to Edinburgh. It was built at Doncaster Works, designed by Sir Nigel Gresley. It was powerful and streamlined, to travel at high speeds. This locomotive was withdrawn from service in 1965, but has been preserved."
