A3 class steam locomotive number 4472 'Flying Scotsman' leaving Kings Cross on the fortieth anniversary of the first non-stop run from London to Edinburgh, 1 May 1968. At this time the engine was owned by Alan Pegler. From the Oxford Publishing Company or Railprint Collection. Collection of approximately 383,350 photographic negatives from various British Railways and constituent companies photographic collections, formerly known as the OPC (Oxford Publishing Company) Collection, contains material from Swindon (GWR) collection, Cowlairs (NBR) collection, LNER Civil Engineers collection, Derby (BR LMR) collection, Liverpool Street (LNER & BR ER) collection, Euston Public Relations & Civil Engineers (BR LMR) collection.
