Description
Hand-coloured stereophotograph from the Diableries series, 'Les regates a Satanville' [Regatta in Satantown], showing skeletons competing in a boat race with skeleton spectators watching on a bridge. Taken by an unknown photographer in 1868 and published by BK (Adolphe Block) of Paris. Part of a series begun in 1861, these amusing stereoscopic photographs were sculpted and photographed by either Habert or Hennetier.
